Choose the right ducted system for your home

Let us design the right solution. We visit your home, measure up and design a full system to suit your house and your budget.

A ducted system warms or cools every room from one or two indoor units in the roof, delivered through insulated ducting to a diffuser in each room's ceiling, with a return grille drawing air back to the system. A wall controller or the app sets the temperature for the whole system, or for each zone if you add smart zone control.

  • Single storey

The most straightforward install, with ducting run through the roof space.

  • Double storey

We plan outlets and returns for both levels, keeping noise and duct runs sensible.

  • Split storey

Ducting designed around split levels and varied ceiling heights.

  • In ceiling solutions

Ducting and diffusers fitted through the ceiling space, the most common setup.

  • No ceiling? No problem

We can fit and install systems under the house where there is no roof space to work with.

From outdoor unit to indoor unit

The outdoor heat pump exchanges heat with outside air. Refrigerant pipes connect it to the indoor unit, usually in the ceiling space, where a fan moves conditioned air into the ducts.

Supply ducts and room diffusers

Insulated ducts carry warmed or cooled air to the rooms. Round diffusers, linear slots and floor grilles are selected around the building and the airflow each room needs.

Return grille and service access

A return draws room air back to the unit. Filters and accessible service panels allow cleaning and maintenance. Return grilles and access hatches have different jobs, even when both sit in the ceiling.

Dampers, sensors and zones

Motorised dampers adjust the air going to each zone. Optional temperature sensors give the controller room-level feedback. We design the duct sizes and minimum airflow together with the controls.

Your assessment includes a site visit and measure-up, a Plandroid system layout where appropriate, equipment and outlet positions, an automation plan and options to suit your budget. Underfloor installation depends on access, clearances and the building layout.

Heat recovery ventilation

Fresh air without throwing away the heat you've paid for.

Stale, moist air is drawn out of your home and passes through a heat exchange core. Fresh outside air passes through the same core on its way in, picking up that warmth. You get filtered fresh air, less condensation and a drier home, while keeping most of the heat inside.

Pair it with a ducted heat pump for a complete heating, cooling and ventilation system. We supply Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay and Toshiba heat exchanger systems.

Each system can be paired with solar air heating or ventilation. Smart Touch zoning is an option for compatible ducted systems; a split system's controls depend on its selected indoor units.

Smart Touch Zone Control, powered by MyAir

Give each room the airflow it needs, from a fixed touchscreen or the MyAir app.

SolarX360's Smart Touch offering uses MyAir by Advantage Air. The supplied range supports up to 10 zones, with an 8-inch touchscreen and an optional 10-inch upgrade. Your installer confirms the equipment available for your system.

Already have ducted heating? Ask about adding smart zoning, 3-in-1 solar air or solar heat recovery. We check the heat-pump model, controls, ducting and minimum airflow before recommending an upgrade.

Up to 10 zones

Heat or cool only the rooms you are using, with a zone for every room in the house.

Individual temperature control

Optional sensors in each room automatically adjust airflow to hold the temperature you choose.

Control from anywhere

The wall touchscreen doubles as a home hub, and the app controls your system from the couch or the other side of the world.

Scheduling and timers

Set up to 10 plans for system start and stop times, or use a once-only timer for individual connected units.

Motion sensor energy saving

Optional motion sensors ease the temperature back when a room has been empty for 10 to 20 minutes, then return it when you walk back in.

Works with your ducted heat pump

Supports compatible models from major ducted heat pump brands. We check your model and the required interface before specifying the system.

Room temperature and motion sensors are optional. Remote access needs compatible Wi-Fi and an internet connection. MyAir also supports multiple compatible ducted units; the final zone layout and safety airflow are part of your system design.

Heat-pump hot water: Carrier Blue and Gree

Looking beyond space heating? Ask us to assess a heat-pump hot-water option for your household.

Carrier Blue hot water

Explore the Carrier Blue hot-water range alongside your heating quote. We confirm the available model, cylinder capacity and installation location for your household.

Gree hot water

Ask about Gree heat-pump water heating, including your daily demand, existing cylinder and space for a replacement system.

A hot-water heat pump transfers heat from the air into stored water. Savings depend on your present water heater, usage, electricity tariff, climate and selected model. We assess these before estimating running costs.

Comfort through the full 24 hours

Solar warmth, heat pumps, ventilation and smart control. A plan for every part of your day, in every season.

6am to 9am

Warm the rooms you wake up in

Schedule your heat pump to take the chill off the bedrooms, bathroom and living area. Your installer sets the priorities around your morning routine.

When solar warmth is available

Let the sun contribute

The solar air collectors provide warmth when conditions allow. Filtered ventilation helps manage moisture while your home is empty. Your heat pump remains available when more heating is needed.

Before you get home

Prepare the house for the evening

Continue circulating air and set the living areas ready for your return. On warmer days, fresh air or heat-pump cooling can take priority according to your installed system.

5pm to 10pm

Put comfort where the family is

Use the living-area heat pump or Dream Air ducted system. If you have a wood burner, a heat transfer kit can share spare warmth with cooler rooms.

10pm to 6am

Settle into comfortable bedrooms

Night Flow serves bedrooms and the hallway, while a zoned Dream Air system can follow individual room schedules. Optional room sensors help the controller adjust airflow as conditions change.

Your design can combine a high wall unit with Night Flow, a multi split system, or Dream Air with optional zoning. Solar output depends on sunlight; equipment, sensors and controls are selected for your home.
